Vice-Chairman ============= Position filled by Election Requires little or no technical skill The vice-chair takes on a couple of roles, some of which may be delegated to others, and some of which may become completely seperate functions: 1. In the absence of the Chair, shall preside over meetings. 2. Helps define new projects and directions for the group. 3. Seeks corporate sponsorship and cooperation. 4. Handles proposals for joint meetings with other groups, special events, and new/alternate meeting sites. 5. Works with other officers to strengthen the group, ensure that there are enough resources for all projects, and compose new psotion descriptions. 6. Heads up the recruiting effort, so projects have good people attached to them. The Vice-Chairman is positioned to be the point man for new development and group expansion, and is encouraged to spin off some of the above functions (and others) as completely new positions.
