Webmaster ========= Position filled by Volunteer[s] Requires moderate to high technical skill, will train assistants Oversee and coordinate the development and maintenance of the KLUG web site. 1. Ensure that all desired information about KLUG and it's activities are accessible and readable by most (if not all) browsers in common use. 2. Set software configuration, engineering, and coding standards for the elements of the web site. 3. Help KLUG members enhance, improve, and expand the KLUG web site, in keeping with the goals of the organization. 4. Notify the membership of significant changes to the web site. 5. Work with the Publicity and Program Directors as needed to ensure that the web site remain current and meaningful according to their needs. 6. Redirect electronic communications addressed to the webmaster, as needed. 7. Train others in the technical skills necessary to be a webmaster, as demanded. 8. Helps evaluate the effectiveness of the KLUG web site. The webmaster may designate others to perform some of these tasks as needed, but this is thought of as a "hands-on" technical position. Familiarity with FTP and site administration is needed. The webmaster is expected to act as a source of information regarding the use of the World Wide Web, and how various Web-related software works.
