Yes, it is functional on a very rudimentary level.

The box is up -
[awilliam@estate2 awilliam]$ ssh root@driftwood.kalamazoolinux.org
root@driftwood.kalamazoolinux.org's password:

Correct. Someone needs to configure the "dial pan". Originally I'd
just create mailboxes/extensions for active driftwood members.

Some other things need to happen as well -
1. The MP3 codec needs to be fixed so that voicemails are encoded.
2. The web interface needs to be configured so that people can play
voice mails.

Additionally, someone needs to look into configuring the conference
server.

I think I am, or at least I've always acted like I am.

Ideally I'd like to see some things happen before the meeting. Our
first meeting was mostly spent putzing with hardware issues, etc... and
not a terribly effective use of time (IMHO). But so far there hasn't
been a great rush towards getting it configured, althought I do believe
it would be terribly useful.

I've just been off on other (mostly paying things). Hopefully as Autumn
rises things will settle down a bit (September is a peak month for
mayhem at Morrison due to some annual events, August is mayhem-prep).

The way I would like the meeting to work is for the things that have
been accomplished since the previous meeting would be explained by the
accomplishers to the other people. Thus we can all learn something.
One problem we face with this project is that it is really new
technology to everyone involved, no one is terribly familiar with it.

Even if these accomplishments were minor I think it would merit another
meeting, but AFAIK there hasn't been much work at all.

Some side-related topics are -
Gatekeepers
ILS (of which I am somewhat aware)
VOIP clients (we used gnophone at the first meeting, it seemed to work,
RPMS are available on the KLUG FTP server).
Sound drivers

I have the root password and will provide it to anyone interested in
hacking on the box; just please remember to make copies of config files
PRIOR to hacking on them.

Lets use a {filename}.{year}{month}{day}{military hour}{minute} format.
As in "hosts" becomes "hosts.200308240928". Since that sorts nicely.

And COMMENT any configuration files you change.
