Yes, the CDs were distributed and installed. I had an "install night" a
couple of weeks ago where students brought in laptops and desktops. We
did straight installs and dual boots.

Now, most of the students are running Red Hat 7.2/7.3 (some SuSe folks)
and learning different aspects.

This class is actually "Web Administration" so we've done things like
install Apache 2.0 from bianry and source, spent two hous dissecting
httpd.conf, etc. We also did some a Samba install, and will have a host
of other topics throughout the rest of the semester. Take a look if

One item that KLUG could help out in this class. Each student (or
student team) needs to do a Web Admin project. The topic area is wide
from installing a server and setting up a Web DB to SSL E-commerce and
bastion servers. Students are allowed to do an academic/technical
project, but I encourage real-world application.
