| Miscellaneous Notes |
| Redhat 9 and SuSE 9.x installed and configured most supported hardware flawlessly. |
When the display returns from "power save mode" (backlight turned off), the screen is distorted.
You can CTRL-ALT-Fx to switch to a virtual console and ALT-F7 back to X to fix the display.
Or you can download and install nVIDIA's XFree86-4 driver to fix the problem.
|
| BIOS settings were left at factory defaults. |
| Summary |
| I really like this laptop and recommend it! It is extremely well supported under Redhat and SuSE.
The only minor bummers are:
- No serial port, which can be "fixed" with a $20 USB to Serial converter.
- Suspend doesn't seem to work with ACPI, but does work with APM.
